About Mark Smith

Mark is a senior infrastructure and construction advisory partner with extensive multinational experience and over 30 years of consulting expertise in both the Big Four firms and the academic world. He has delivered strategic solutions across a broad range of client needs, including shaping the direction of mega infrastructure programs, assessing major capital project funding options, and developing analytical frameworks for effective control of large-scale construction projects. Mark has advised governments, fund investors, real estate developers, construction contractors, and multinational conglomerates, providing expert guidance on complex infrastructure challenges.

Mark is a recognized leader in infrastructure and capital projects advisory. He has established and led practices across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East, leveraging his expertise in emerging markets to drive global success.

Mark has applied his distinguished leadership to large-scale projects with a combined value of over one hundred billion dollars. His notable career highlights include developing innovative construction management approaches on one of the first giga projects ever, a twenty-year dam and power station construction program for the China Ministry of Water Resources – Three Gorges Dam. Mark also led the initial rollout of the World Bank’s City Resilience Program, using digital design technology to map financial decision-making for over ninety emerging market cities empowered to design and build infrastructure for greater resilience to climate change. For the past four years, Mark has been involved with efforts at NEOM in Saudi Arabia, arguably the largest infrastructure program in the world, during the initial planning and delivery efforts of numerous iconic assets.
