Why you enjoy your job

I get to speak to many different people on a daily basis, helping them through the recruitment process. It is very satisfying to see someone start a new journey and be part of that from the very beginning.

I’ve also learned about the way employment is handled in different countries, and how to ensure we’re managing the recruitment of our employees properly. Speaking with people from a variety of background has also helped me get a grasp of different cultures, despite not having worked in these regions before.

What makes you great at your job

I feel I am a very approachable and kind person which enables me to succeed in my role. I try to put myself in the recruitee’s shoes and work in a way that makes the process as smooth as possible for them. I love a challenge and feel I can work on different tasks to get the job done.

My role can involve juggling multiple regions with different compliance requirements, so it always keeps me on my toes! I feel I’m a good communicator too, which is essential when there can be many people going through different stages of our recruitment process at any one time.

What do you like about working at HKA

Working with such a great bunch of people from around the world! But especially in the Teesside office – everyone is so lovely, it’s like home from home.

I also get to travel on occasion too. We may be visiting universities in the UK to build relationships or visiting recruiting service providers to discuss our requirements with them.

What everyone should know about me

When I first started working at HKA, I spoke that often and in detail about ‘Tilly’ that the team thought I was talking about my child. In fact, Tilly is my little Shih Tzu dog!
