Peter Van Gorp will be presenting at the next in-person SCL(Gulf) events in Dubai on Thursday 20 October 2022, to be repeated in Abu Dhabi on Thursday 27 October 2022. Both events start at 18:30.
Together with Paul Blakeway of Taylor Wessing he will be looking at the fire safety considerations which need to be taken into account at each stage of a construction project. Not dealing with these issues in accordance with the law can cause serious delays – or worse.
Many disputes relate to fire safety or include fire safety related issues to some extent because fire safety aspects are relevant in many construction and engineering disciplines. The presentation wants to highlight specific issues around fire safety and demonstrate in which way fire safety engineering interacts with other disciplines. In this regard, the latest UAE fire code includes a chapter “Responsibilities of Stakeholders” which stipulates the legal and contractual obligations of the various stakeholders relevant to construction projects.
