The conference, “Golden Opportunities: Pioneering New Frontiers in Construction and Construction Disputes,” features global leaders and professionals eager to share their invaluable knowledge and experience. They will highlight critical topics facing the construction industry today.
We are excited to announce that three of HKA’s experts are presenting:
- Partners Daniel Kwon and Scott Hollingsworth will participate in a one-hour panel discussion on “Emerging Issues in Data Center Construction” alongside Sean Suzuki of DPR Construction and Trip DeMuth of Faegre Drinker on July 17 at 1:30 PM PT. Their discussion will provide various perspectives on the data center industry and discuss cost, schedule, and legal issues related to the fast-growing data center construction market.
- Partner Seyran Celik will moderate and contribute to a one-hour Young Professional Session on “How to Become ‘Next-Gen in Construction Disputes’” alongside panelists Eugenie Rogers of Reed Smith LLP, Elaine Y. Lee of Peckar & Abramson, P.C., Shay Kulkami of Fennemore, and Thomas Christ of Benesch Friedlander on July 17 at 4:00 PM PT. Their session will consider the various facets and responsibilities that law firm partnership broadly entails, including leadership, legal work, trusted advisor relationships, sales and marketing, and business focus, and how to be proactive and strategic in each of these areas to make the strongest case for partnership. They will also address how firms can incentivize career progression.
This year’s program, geared toward diverse professionals from legal, domestic, and technical fields around the world, will interest owners, senior construction executives, general counsel, construction attorneys, arbitrators, academics, design professionals, and consultants alike.

Daniel has over 20 years of construction industry experience. He started his career as a field engineer for a commercial general contractor before moving into construction claims and disputes. He has experience on a wide variety of projects dealing with issues including evaluating delay claims, coordinating expert teams, evaluating underlying entitlement issues, analyzing claimed overhead damages, and leading the development of expert work product. He has presented and testified in mediations, depositions, arbitration, and trials.

Scott is a delay and quantum expert with over 20 years of experience in the litigation consulting industry. He specializes in the investigation and resolution of business disputes related to the construction industry. Scott has testified as an expert in arbitration and court proceedings and has presented schedule delay and damage analysis during settlement negotiations. He has also consulted on behalf of construction contractors, project owners, insurance companies, and government contractors, and has led in analyzing schedule delays and financial issues. Scott has been consistently recognized in Lexology Index as a Construction Expert Witness and Thought Leader.

Seyran is an engineering expert, construction claims advisor, and forensic schedule analyst who provides expert services for international arbitration, litigation, and mediations. She has been retained as a delay and disruption professional by local and international contractors, owners, A/E firms, and law firms. Seyran has also assisted internationally acclaimed delay and quantum experts on multibillion-dollar oil and gas, power, infrastructure, and commercial projects across Africa, the Americas, Australia, and Europe.
Seyran has significant project management and design experience as a civil engineer specializing in geotechnical engineering. Her expertise lies in the analysis of shallow and deep foundations, slope stabilization, ground improvement, and roadways. Seyran has also provided services related to preconstruction phase feasibility studies, damage studies, remediation solutions, subsurface investigations, and environmental assessments. She has been involved in domestic and international work, including government contracts and embassies, defense and military, transportation infrastructure, healthcare, education, wastewater, and commercial towers.
