Ali Fard is a mechanical engineer and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with more than 25 years of construction and engineering industry experience. He has been appointed as an expert on more than 30 occasions in matters of delay and quantum.

Ali Fard applies 20-plus years of experience as an expert witness and consultant to high-value construction disputes. He “has a tremendously strong command of the art and science of delay claims and impact analyses”.

Ali has been cross-examined in arbitration, including giving concurrent evidence (hot-tubbing). He has been appointed by counsel to carry out independent assessments and provide expert services regarding assessment of delays, disputed changes, and cost issues ranging from lost productivity and standby to acceleration, prolongation and disruption.

Ali has led and provided consulting, advisory and expert services to contractors, developers, owners, and banks for projects with values of up to $2.8 billion. These have included oil & gas, infrastructure, power plants and buildings projects in numerous countries and various jurisdictions.

Ali is widely experienced in contractual and claims management strategies and advises clients in respect of contract solutions, contract risk management and commercial procedures. He has also successfully provided commercial negotiation, resulting in the amicable settlement of the disputed issues.

Ali’s qualifications include an LLM in construction law and an MBA, as well as a BSc and an MSc in mechanical engineering.  Clients refer to his expert work as “meticulous, objective and well considered” and agree that “Ali Fard is very detail oriented and focused on distilling complex issues into understandable reports”.
