Chris is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with more than 30 years of construction and engineering industry experience. He has specialised in offshore works and shipbuilding for the past decade and has acted as an expert witness on five occasions.

Chris started his career as a surveyor in the North East of the UK gaining experience across the ship building and engineering industries. For the last 15 years, he has operated in the marine, offshore and oil and gas industries providing dispute resolution and commercial advice, including vessel construction and floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) construction and modification.

Chris is an experienced dispute resolver and promotes strategic procurement advice and good contract administration techniques as the foundations for dispute avoidance.  He has been engaged in these capacities on several major projects where turnaround management has been necessary to manage projects through difficulties.

Chris has been cross-examined as a quantum expert for Hall Construction in Lincoln County Court in the United Kingdom, which was a dispute on valuation of civil engineering works to roads and sewers on a construction project.  He also has experience in arbitration and adjudication and has acted as adjudicator, a court appointed lay referee and litigation manager.

Chris holds both a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and an LLB (Hons) in Law and attained his Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) chartered status in 1991.
