David Russell

Technical Director

David is a Chartered Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the construction and engineering industry. He has been acting as assistant expert since 2013 as has been appointed as technical expert on five occasions.

David has a background as a mechanical engineer and has worked across a broad range of projects and building types, from initial survey and feasibility reporting through to final commissioning and handover. He has experience of commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, residential and retail building projects, utilising both design and build and traditionally procured contracts.

David specialises in building services design and has been responsible for project management and design on projects up to £40 million. He also supports clients in dispute avoidance and resolution; providing technical input for contracts to minimise the likelihood of building services related disputes and carrying out independent investigations and reviews in matters of failure, performance issues, pre-acquisition reviews and due diligence reviews.

David has been involved with expert witness investigation project work on numerous occasions, as both expert assistant and named technical expert. He has undertaken courtroom awareness training with Bond Solon and completed the ABS asbestos awareness course.

David holds a diploma and bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering and an engineering diploma in energy services. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and is highly regarded and trusted by clients and peers alike.
