Karen Rayment

Karen Rayment is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience. She has been appointed as an engineering expert on over 50 occasions.

Karen has testified as an expert in litigation (including delivering concurrent evidence) relating to intellectual property and other matters in US civil courts. She has acted as an expert in professional liability cases for medical malpractice and electrical and electronic products liability disputes.

Karen has experience in designing experiments, performing hands-on testing and failure analysis of consumer and commercial products, validating and verifying prototype products, and performing troubleshooting for product design, manufacturing, and safety issues. She has provided support on product investigations and hazard and safety analysis studies for US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Health Canada, the European Union (EU) Commission, and the UK Ministry for Industry and Innovation.

Karen specialises in risk management, regulatory compliance, failure analysis, and product safety for electric power products, data communications, networking solutions, and medical and consumer electronics. She works with clients to determine root cause failure and provide analysis and evaluation reports for customer-returned products, along with product reliability engineering, and manufacturing and warehousing audits. 

Karen holds a master’s in electrical engineering and an MBA in global strategic management and is a Project Management Professional and Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator. She is a member of Project Management International, Electronic Device Failure Analysis Society, Defense Research Institute, American Bar Association, Hispanic National Bar Association, National Association of Fire Investigators, National Fire Protection Agency, Professional Association for Exporters and Importers, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
