Mark Griffith is a mechanical engineer with more than 35 years of construction and engineering experience. He has been appointed on more than 200 occasions as an expert in delay, quantum and technical matters.

Mark has been cross-examined in both litigation and arbitration (including giving concurrent evidence – hot-tubbing) and has acted as an expert for disputed values in excess of AUD$1billion. He has been appointed as an arbitrator, adjudicator, and a Supreme Court appointed referee.

Mark has over 30 years of experience in senior management and project management roles within the heavy engineering construction sector. He has also practised as a solicitor in New South Wales (NSW). Mark’s project experience ranges from buildings, rail and infrastructure to petrochemical, mining and materials handling, minerals processing and renewable energy projects.

Mark is experienced in claim evaluation, dispute resolution and the preparation of supporting documentation for all dispute resolution settings. His expertise includes extension of time (EOT) claims, quantum meruit, disruption, cost, defects, and project management practice.

Mark is a founding member and director, as well as a former chair of the expert subcommittee of the Society of Construction Law, Australia. He is dual qualified in engineering and law and widely published on matters of construction delay, defects and claims. He is also an accredited arbitrator, adjudicator and expert with the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators, Australia (IAMA).
