Simon is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and barrister (non-practising) with over 25 years of construction industry experience. He has acted as expert witness on two occasions concerning matters of quantum and damages.

Simon has been cross-examined as an independent quantum expert in litigation and has acted as an ICC appointed expert to a mediator for a major airport project in the Middle East. He has also drafted numerous reports and tribunal submissions with respect to statements of case and given oral testimony to numerous dispute adjudication boards (DABs).

Simon specialises in contract and dispute management and has a high success rate in delivering client objectives. He has a wide variety of experience of projects up to a value of $40 billion including power and desalination projects, airports and rail projects and various major infrastructure projects.

Simon has a track record of delivering strategic leadership, turnaround and recovery on complex, high-value infrastructure and energy projects across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He has extensive working knowledge of many standard forms of contract including FIDIC, NEC, JCT, bespoke EPC and joint venture agreements and professional services agreements.

Simon has written and presented on various topics including dispute boards and variations. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a member of The Honourable Society of The Middle Temple, the International Bar Association and the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation.
