Trevor Pettigrew-Smith is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 35 years of experience of construction and civil engineering. He has acted as quantum expert on more than 20 occasions.

Trevor has acted as quantum expert for disputes in litigation and adjudication and has been cross-examined at arbitrations. He has acted on a vast range of disputed matters from varied use buildings projects to tunnels, roads, utilities and marine projects. Trevor’s expert witness commissions have included projects across the UK, and the Middle East.

Trevor specialises in expert witness work, dispute management, contractual matters, arbitration, adjudication and mediation. He supports clients in matters of prolongation and disruption, defects, variations, negligence and termination.

Trevor has held senior positions working on building and infrastructure projects across the UK and the Middle East. He is skilled in claims and dispute resolution services and has prepared extension of time and additional cost claims for main contractors and subcontractors for disputed sums in excess of £40 million.

Trevor is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is on the panel of adjudicators for RICS, CIArb, CIC and SBF and has been published on a number of occasions; most recently as co-author the ‘Scotland’ section of Andrew Burr’s International Contractual and Statutory Adjudication.
