PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE (PMO) DESIGN AND OPERATION

A PMO is an essential function for any organisation that is implementing its business strategy through a programme of projects.

HKA has reviewed, designed, established, operated and rescued a significant number of PMOs for major asset organisations and for some of the world’s largest projects.

We bespoke our PMOs to the needs of our client, established in a controlled manner, and operated to ensure a smooth transfer of knowledge and capability to the client, with little to no impact on business as usual processes.

ORGANISATIONAL DESIGN & TRANSFORMATION

HKA has helped to improve the capacity, capability and efficiency of a number of major organisations including utilities companies, infrastructure providers, government agencies and technology providers.

We treat all organisations as unique. We determine the specific roadblocks that are affecting the achievement of their organisational goals and objectives. We help organisations develop their strategy, structure, processes and systems to effectively develop and deliver large and complex capital portfolios. We also assess resource, skill requirements and current capabilities, and realise change management and people challenges with dedicated resources throughout large-scale transformations.

We have the in-house capability and skill-set to both manage the end-to-end process or to provide expertise and support at discrete stages of the process.

PROGRAMME IDENTIFICATION, SET-UP AND INITIATION

HKA has played a leading role in the identification and establishment of a number of major infrastructure programmes.

We have extensive experience in assisting clients to identify the available projects options and assessing their feasibility to deliver long term, sustainable outcomes that meet our clients’ needs.

We assess cost requirements, potential interface issues, logistical constraints, and potential conflicts or synergies.  We conduct ‘highest and best use’ analyses of facilities or locations.  We prioritise and rank project options so that clients can effectively make decisions on a preferred project roll out plan. We then develop a project brief for each project that clearly outlines the client’s objectives for the project from commercial, community and other relevant aspects.

We have the processes, systems, and expertise needed to develop large, complex capital portfolios from the ground up.  We remove complexity and provide a clear path of implementation.
