“This House believes that the pursuit of diversity in arbitration has lost its momentum and is no longer a meaningful driver of change in the profession.”
ArbitralWomen invites moot participants to argue for or against the proposition that diversity initiatives within the arbitration community—particularly in light of recent global political shifts and the rise of populist figures such as Donald Trump—have stalled or become ineffective. The debate will explore whether diversity is at risk of becoming a tokenistic exercise rather than a substantive force for progress, and whether the arbitration profession is genuinely committed to inclusion or merely paying lip service. Arguments may address the impact of political climates, the effectiveness of current diversity measures, and the future of representation in arbitration.
The event is generously hosted by Ashurst at Level 8, 39 Martin Place, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia and sponsored by HKA.
