Barry Bell has more than 30 years of experience consulting on the analysis and quantification of damages in commercial litigation matters. He has been appointed as an expert on more than 100 matters and has provided critical damages and economic analysis on more than 400 matters.
Barry has testified in arbitration and litigation before state and federal courts regarding damages and economic issues in intellectual property and other commercial disputes. He has produced more than 100 expert reports on disputes with values of up to $1.4 billion.
Barry specializes in matters involving allegations of breach of contract and fiduciary duty, fraud, trade secret misappropriation, and copyright, patent, and trademark infringement. He has analyzed and presented claims for restitution and for damages under reliance, expectancy (lost profits), reasonable royalty, unjust enrichment, and statutory damages constructs.
Barry has also led engagements in analyzing damages related to business interruption, dealer termination, product liability, fraudulent conveyances, and professional liability. His experience covers the media, financial services, medical devices and pharmaceuticals, chemicals, mining, mobile devices and applications, energy, oil and gas, entertainment, real estate, retail, healthcare, high technology and internet, software, insurance, telecommunications, manufacturing, and waste disposal industries.
Barry is a Certified Licensing Professional, a Certified Patent Valuation Analyst, and a Certified Fraud Examiner. He is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Licensing Executives Society, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and an associate member of the American Bar Association.
