Jean-Michel Albert is a civil engineer with more than 15 years of experience. He has acted as a delay expert and assisted the named expert on numerous occasions.
Jean-Michel has authored and presented independent expert reports on entitlement to extension of time and associated delay costs to inform private, executive-level commercial negotiations, successfully limiting the scope of the escalated dispute. He has supported clients on a variety of buildings and infrastructure disputes across the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
Jean-Michel has onsite experience spanning the entire project life cycle, from front end project planning and onsite project delivery, to back end commercial closeout and dispute resolution support. He has successfully delivered and subcontracted works packages spanning a range of trades and sectors on transport and mining infrastructure projects throughout Australia as the site engineer. As a consultant and site engineer, he has also worked across a variety of commercial structures and industry sectors on projects including a $45+ billion LNG export terminal, dredging and reclamation works, roads and railways, freight handling, ports and marine facilities, digital radio network rollouts, and residential, commercial and government services building developments.
Jean-Michel brings his expertise from frontline, major project delivery to provide a practical approach to resolving technically and commercially challenging problems in back end forensic delay analysis. He is well versed in all of the commonly used planning software tools including Primavera P6 & Primavera Risk Analysis, MS Project and Tilos.
Jean-Michel is a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He holds master’s degrees in both engineering and commercial law and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
