Richard has testified on more than 10 occasions in international arbitration (including delivering concurrent evidence) and has been engaged in UK TCC proceedings. Arbitration forums have included ICC, ICSID, LCIA, DIAC, SIAC, LMAA proceedings, along with dispute review boards and dispute adjudication boards. He has prepared numerous expert reports on disputed projects with values of up to $2.25 billion.
Richard has prior experience as a main contractor and construction manager, where he delivered design and engineering, procurement and construction management, design and build contracting, management and general contracting, risk management, value engineering, and programming. His project experience includes heavy civil engineering (including tunnelling), major road, rail, airport and pipeline infrastructure, renewable energy (wind, hydro, and solar), power and water, oil and gas, industrial and process plants, healthcare, residential, commercial, retail, education, leisure, mechanical and electrical installations, and offshore vessels and installations.
Richard specialises in using critical path analysis to assist in the resolution of construction, process, oil and gas, and offshore disputes. He supports clients regarding delay analysis, disruption, and acceleration in both dispute resolution and avoidance matters.
Richard holds a degree in civil engineering and a graduate diploma in laws. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Society of Construction Law, and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
