Revolutionary FAR Overhaul Updates

On June 23, 2026, the FAR Council proposed to amend the FAR to implement Executive Order 14275, Restoring Common Sense to Federal Procurement, and issued 12 proposed rules to streamline the FAR, including revisions to FAR Parts 6, 7, 10, 18, 26, 37, 41, and 52.
On September 18, 2026, the FAR Council issued 12 proposed rules to revise FAR Parts 8, 12, 13, 15, 38, 44, 51, and 52.
The comment period for the June 23 proposed rule has expired. Comments on the September 18 proposed changes are due by October 19.
