On April 7, 2025, DCAA announced a comprehensive reorganization plan designed to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. DCAA intends to complete the reorganization by September 30, 2025. Key elements of the planned reorganization include:

• Developing a new organizational structure with a central headquarters and three primary Directorates – Land, Sea, and Air
• Merging the Region and Corporate Audit Directorates’ audit offices into the Directorate that most closely aligns with their contractors’ products
• Re-creating a Centralized Audit Function to focus on specialized audits and projects
• Closing and consolidating 40 smaller audit suboffices

DCAA noted in its announcement that other changes focusing on technology and process improvement can also be expected.
