HKA APPOINTS MARK GRIFFITH AS PARTNER AND DELAY EXPERT LEAD IN OCEANIA

HKA, one of the world’s leading privately owned, independent providers of consulting, expert and advisory services for the construction, manufacturing, process and technology industries, today announced that Mark Griffith has joined the firm as Partner and Delay Expert Lead, based in Sydney.

Mark will join the Oceania Executive Team and will play a significant role in the development and growth of the firm’s expert service offering in the field of delay and disruption. He will work closely with the firm’s quantum, engineering, delay and damages (QED+) experts on construction related matters in the region and worldwide.  

Mark has an established reputation as one of Australia’s leading delay experts. He has an extensive track record in all aspects of the construction industry and has acted as an arbitrator, adjudicator and Supreme Court appointed referee. He has significant experience in claim evaluation, dispute resolution and the preparation of supporting documentation for litigation, arbitration and adjudication. Mark has provided expert evidence in relation to extension of time claims, quantum merit, disruption, cost, defects and project management practice on several occasions.

Mark’s knowledge, insight and capabilities are founded on over 30 years of experience in senior management and project management roles within the heavy engineering construction sector, including buildings, infrastructure and rail, mining and materials handling, minerals processing, and renewable energy projects.

Mark is an engineer and has practiced as a solicitor in New South Wales. For over 12 years, Mark was responsible for the New South Wales and Queensland operations of Hinds Blunden, a Project Management Expert practice, where he was a part owner. Mark is also a founding member and director, and former chair, of the Expert Subcommittee of the Society of Construction Law, Australia.

Mark has a BE in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Queensland and a diploma in law from the Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB) and the University of Sydney.

HKA’s experts act in support of litigation and international or local arbitration cases on every continent. Experienced as party or tribunal appointed expert witnesses, they are able to advise and if needed give evidence under cross-examination, including concurrent ‘hot-tubbing’.
