HKA is pleased to announce Jenny Dominguez’s appointment as a Partner. Jenny brings over 24 years of accounting experience, the last 22 focused on forensic accounting, fraud investigations, and litigation consulting. 

Jenny’s expertise in fraud investigations, data analysis, and fraud risk assessments has made her a sought-after expert. She has testified in civil litigation and arbitration and on behalf of the San Diego District Attorney’s Office in a preliminary criminal prosecution hearing. Jenny has also been recognized as a credible expert witness under cross-examination. 

Throughout her career, Jenny has investigated fraud valued at up to $126 million and prepared numerous expert reports. She has supported clients in financial fraud investigations across various sectors, including state and local government, higher education, construction, real estate, nonprofit, and healthcare. Her experience encompasses investigating employee embezzlement, conflicts of interest, vendor and procurement fraud, fraudulent financial statements, and other accounting irregularities.

Jenny specializes in the comprehensive analysis of financial data, using organizational data and publicly available information in conjunction with advanced data analysis tools and techniques. She conducts thorough comparisons with bank activities, disbursements, and other financial outflows to identify potential fraud that warrants further investigation. Additionally, Jenny has conducted internal control assessments and fraud risk evaluations, leading numerous forensic accounting and investigation engagements for two prominent national accounting firms. 

With extensive experience conducting forensic audits and compliance examinations, Jenny has worked on federal and state grant programs and other federally regulated funding sources, such as student financial aid. She has been retained on numerous occasions by agencies and nonprofits that have received federally regulated dollars to examine the appropriateness of expenditures, verify the proper application of eligibility requirements, and quantify potential liability from noncompliance. Where significant internal control weaknesses were identified, Jenny worked with the agencies to improve program processes and compliance.

Jenny holds a BSBA from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and is a Certified Public Accountant in Arkansas, California, and Hawaii. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF).
