27th January 2026
In a recent federal court trial in the Northern District of California between the International Swimming League Ltd. (ISL) and World Aquatics, HKA provided expert rebuttal analysis on economic damages and financial forensics in a significant antitrust case. World Aquatics is the exclusive world governing body for all Aquatics, comprising 210 National Member Federations.
The case concerned allegations of anti-competitive conduct within global professional swimming. Following an eight-day jury trial, the court delivered its verdict, awarding nominal damages of US$1 and rejecting ISL’s claim for more than US$40 million in alleged lost profits.
The HKA team retained by World Aquatics was led by internationally recognized disputes expert Paul Meyer, supported by an outstanding group of consultants, including Brian Badala, John Hansen, Colin McKay, Steele Meyer, and Ramya Sridhar.
This case underscores HKA’s reputation for delivering expert consulting services on complex, high-stakes antitrust and commercial disputes.
