Alasdair MacKerron is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 35 years of experience. He has been appointed as a structural engineering expert on more than 10 occasions.
Alasdair has testified in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, the State Administrative Tribunal, and on development application panels. He has produced expert reports on disputes with values of up to AUS$10 million.
Alasdair specialises in matters of safety, causes of structural failures, compliance with design code requirements, and the determination of development applications. He has conducted hundreds of investigations, inspections, and assessments of all forms of construction and all types of structures. His design experience includes high-rise residential, commercial, industrial, education, heritage, infrastructure, and major sports venues.
Background
Alasdair has held leadership positions at several major engineering consultancy firms, where he set strategic direction and developed process improvements to win work and increase efficiency. He has led the design and construction administration phases of many major construction projects in Perth, across Western Australia, the Middle East, Russia, and the UK.
Alasdair holds a degree in civil engineering and is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia and a Chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He was a member of the inaugural State Design Review Panel for Western Australia as well as the inaugural Architectural and Design Scotland review panel.
