Daniel Chua is a quantity surveyor with over 10 years of experience. He has assisted the named quantum expert on nine occasions.
Daniel has supported in litigation, arbitration, and adjudication proceedings, contributing to the preparation of expert reports for disputed matters with values of over $300 million.
Daniel has experience as part of the expert teams across disputed projects in the rail, infrastructure, building, power generation, renewables, and oil and gas industries. He specialises in construction contracts and commercial administration, preparation and assessment of contractual claims, and dispute avoidance strategies.
Background
Prior to joining HKA, Daniel managed and assessed claims for five viaduct packages and seven station packages on two Mass Rail Transit projects in Malaysia, gaining extensive experience in contracts and claims management. As a consultant, he has prepared, advised, defended and assessed complex quantum claims for project owners and main contractors on major international projects.
Daniel holds a degree in quantity surveying. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators, and the Society of Construction Law. Daniel is also a provisional quantity surveyor for the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia and a graduate member of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
