Dimitrios Tousiakis is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 15 years of construction industry experience. He has acted as delay expert more than 10 times and has provided independent advice on programming matters to clients on numerous occasions.

Dimitrios is an RICS-accredited expert witness and has been cross-examined by KC during international arbitrations. He has been appointed as an independent delay expert for ICC, INCITRAL, DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, and ADCCAC arbitrations with project values of up to USD$1.4B. He also has provided independent expert opinion to contractors and employers on multiple occasions.

Dimitrios has led complex delay and disruption forensic analysis for both live projects and throughout the dispute resolution process. His expertise includes the design and construction of steel structures and the simplification of complex matters utilising intuitive visual representation to support his clear methodology. He has also acted as a conciliator, drafted expert reports and assisted the named delay expert on a range of projects including high-rise buildings, airports, healthcare, rail and oil and gas.

Background

Dimitrios has worked as an engineer for contractors and consultants in both on-site and back-office environments. He is experienced across all stage of the project life cycle from tendering, design, construction and supervision through to certification and dispute resolution for construction and structural projects across the Middle East, UK and Greece.

Dimitrios holds a master’s in both civil engineering and structural steel design and business management. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a member of the Academy of Experts and is fluent in both English and Greek.
