Eric Mazur is a Certified Computer Forensic Examiner with nearly 35 years of experience. He has been appointed as an expert witness on over 50 occasions.

Eric has testified regarding digital computer forensic investigations and electronic discovery in both federal and state courts, before arbitration panels, and at depositions in jurisdictions throughout the United States. He has produced expert reports on disputes with values of up to $1.8 billion.

Eric specializes in conducting investigations regarding fraud, unauthorized data access, misappropriation of trade secrets, and data manipulation and destruction for public and private sector clients. He has led large technology projects relating to the forensic recovery and electronic discovery process of data demanded by subpoena and has forensically produced millions of pages of client data for critical privileged legal review.  

Background

Eric has prior experience as a detective with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Financial Investigations Unit in Washington, DC. He has instructed federal, state, and local law enforcement officers in conducting computer-based investigations and forensic analysis while an instructor for the Department of Defense, Cyber Crime Center. The United States Department of Justice recognized Eric for his achievements at the 13th and 19th annual international law enforcement awards and nominated him for the United States Department of Justice Outstanding Achievement Award. 

Eric holds a degree in criminal justice and is an EnCase Certified Forensic Examiner, a Seized Computer Evidence Recovery Specialist, a Certified Technical Trainer, Certified Electronic Evidence Collection Specialist, and holds a certification in computer network investigations. He was trained in computer forensics by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Secret Service, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigations Division, and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
