Mark Sanders has over 25 years of experience in construction, engineering, project controls, and dispute resolution. He has been appointed as a delay and disruption expert on nearly 40 occasions.

Mark has testified in international arbitrations, trials, dispute adjudication board proceedings, deposition, and mediation matters involving transportation, energy, building, and water infrastructure projects in the United States and Latin America. He has prepared numerous expert reports on disputes with values of up to $250 million.

Mark specializes in evaluating delays, disruptions, productivity impacts, scope changes, changed conditions, contract amendments, and termination-related matters. His expert appointments have included the construction of a $50 million complex for the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, as well as a 30-year concession to reconstruct, operate, and maintain public highways in Lima, Perú. Mark has expertise in both contractor and owner-side assessments of entitlement, responsibility, causation, and damages.

Background

Mark has experience as an engineer and construction manager on projects for power generation and delivery, oil and gas, transportation, commercial development, and public infrastructure. He has been responsible for project controls, scheduling, cost management, contract administration, procurement, change management, risk management, and project execution on programs and projects valued at up to $1.7 billion.

Mark is a Professional Engineer, a Certified Cost Professional, a Planning and Scheduling Professional, a Certified Forensic Claims Consultant, a Project Management Professional, a Portfolio Management Professional, and a Construction Documents Technologist. He is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International, the American Bar Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the International Bar Association, and the State Bar of California. Mark frequently speaks at conferences on topics including project development, scheduling, budgeting, execution, project management, and evaluation of issues related to delay and quantum matters.
