His international arbitration experience spans proceedings conducted under ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, SCC, DIAC and CEPANI rules. Matthias has provided expert evidence in judicial proceedings across several European jurisdictions, including France, Belgium, and England.

Matthias has extensive experience in corporate and financial litigation, particularly M&A and post-acquisition disputes, shareholder litigation, and securities-related claims. His expertise includes contested business and share valuations, minority shareholder rights, squeeze-outs, alleged abuses of majority control, related-party transactions, and breaches of shareholders’ agreements. Matthias has also been appointed in investor-state disputes by both investors and sovereign states in dozens of international investment arbitrations. He has assessed damages arising from expropriations, breaches of investment treaties, alleged violations of fair and equitable treatment standards and other forms of state intervention affecting foreign investments.
