Patrick McLane (Pat) is a Certified Management Accountant with over 35 years of experience. He has been appointed as a valuation and damages expert on more than a dozen occasions and assisted the named expert on hundreds of matters.

Pat has testified in arbitration and in Texas state courts, as well as deposition testimony, regarding complex economic, financial, and intellectual property disputes. He has led engagements involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, business interruption, and professional malpractice.

Pat’s expertise in intellectual property includes quantifying damages for reasonable royalty, lost profits, price erosion, unjust enrichment, and trade secret matters. He has performed fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory (FRAND) royalty analyses for standard essential patents (SEPs), conducted royalty audits, evaluated complex licensing arrangements, applied the Georgia-Pacific factors, and assessed design-around costs, apportionment, and return on investment. In addition to his work in intellectual property, his engagements have covered lost profit modelling, market and industry analyses, evaluation of complex cost and pricing structures, insurance claim assessments, and business and ownership interest valuations using income, market, and cost approaches.
