HKA expands Forensic Technical Services Australia Alasdair MacKerron appointed as Partner

HKA is pleased to announce the appointment of Alasdair MacKerron as Partner in its growing Forensic Technical Services (FTS) team in Perth.
Alasdair brings 35 years of experience in engineering consultancy and strategic leadership to the role. An accomplished structural engineer, he has led the design and development of many major construction projects in Perth, the Middle East, Russia, and the UK. His appointment reinforces HKA’s strategic focus on deep technical expertise in Australia and internationally.
Throughout his career, Alasdair has worked on numerous projects across all sectors, including residential, commercial, hotels, industrial, education, heritage, as well as infrastructure and major sports venues. He has provided advice to contractors, developers, and owners to help them develop maintenance strategies and prosecute or defend claims. Alasdair has given evidence at the Supreme Court, the State Administrative Tribunal and at Development Assessment Panel hearings.

Prior to joining HKA, Alasdair held leadership positions at several major engineering consultancy firms. He has been closely involved in setting the strategic direction of companies and has led the development of process improvement in winning work.

Alasdair is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia, a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and holds a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Dundee. He has sat on several Property Council of Australia committees and is actively involved in their events, having appeared on panels and presented at networking events. He acts as one of the Property Council’s mentors, providing guidance and advice to the next generation of professionals. He was a member of the inaugural State Design Review Panel for Western Australia as well as the inaugural Architectural & Design Scotland review panel.
