Michael Halliday is a Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years of experience as a commercial manager, adept at managing projects and leading teams in technically complex, large-scale disputes, including a Mega Project exceeding $1 billion. He specializes in distressed projects and is recognized as a “Trusted Advisor” by numerous large private clients, offering structured, strategic, and diplomatic guidance. His skills in diffusing significant disputes, collaborating with legal teams, and safeguarding financial positions provide a unique value to clients.

Michael has effectively utilized his project experience and strong client relationships to identify new business opportunities and deliver innovative solutions for European clients in international markets. He is an integral part of the business development of HKA’s claims and expert business and manages key accounts for several global clients. He has sector experience in oil and gas, infrastructure, MEICA, and civil sectors, with a particular focus on power, utilities, and renewables for diverse UK and international clients.

Michael holds a BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying, an MSc in Construction Law, and advanced qualifications in expert witness evidence and competitive strategy and innovation from esteemed institutions. He is a Fellow and Chief Moderator for the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors, an RICS ambassador for Construction Conflicts Avoidance Protocol and sits on various industry committees. He has authored thought leadership pieces and is an experienced lecturer, presenting at various workshops and seminars globally
