HKA strengthens Government Contracting practice with industry veteran Brian Reimer
HKA has strengthened its Government Contracting practice with the addition of Brian Reimer as Director in Chicago. With more than 20 years of experience supporting government contractors, Brian brings deep expertise in contract disputes, compliance, claims, and negotiation strategy, enhancing HKA’s ability to help clients navigate complex federal contracting challenges.
HKA is pleased to welcome Brian Reimer to its Government Contracting practice as a Director in Chicago.
Brian has more than 20 years of experience supporting government contractors in negotiating and resolving complex contractual disputes. His work focuses on preparing entitlement analyses and quantum assessments for change orders, requests for equitable adjustment (REAs), claims, terminations, and commercial disputes, as well as providing strategic advice and accounting and compliance expertise for pre- and non-litigation matters.
Brian’s expertise includes evaluating cost allowability and allocability, supporting audit readiness and regulatory compliance, and advising on negotiation strategy in both pre- and post-award environments. He is also experienced in supporting litigation and formal dispute proceedings, including preparing analyses and materials for expert reports.

His experience includes leadership roles in government contracts, finance, and accounting, as well as advisory engagements for clients across the aerospace and defense, technology, construction, health sciences, real estate, manufacturing, and international development sectors. He has provided expert analysis on matters involving delay and disruption, pricing and cost recovery, compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), agency-specific acquisition regulations, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
Brian has also advised senior leadership on claims strategy, supported large-scale negotiations, and contributed to the growth and maintenance of clients’ relationships with federal agencies. His advisory services encompass M&A due diligence and integration, bid protests, and the development of compliance frameworks to mitigate risks while enabling business growth in highly regulated environments.

Brian holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas Tech University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Federal Contracts Manager.
