About Tino Grabbert

Tino is an infrastructure and operations leader with nearly two decades of experience delivering complex capital programs and sustainable performance improvement in asset-intensive environments.

Before joining HKA, Tino was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he led the firm’s Resources practice in Australia. In this role, he was responsible for a portfolio of more than 20 major clients and a large multidisciplinary team delivering over 60 projects annually across mining, energy, and industrial sectors.

Tino is recognised for helping large corporates and mid-cap organisations deliver capital programs and operational productivity through strategic clarity, effective governance, modern operating models, and the practical application of technology and AI. Equally comfortable in the boardroom and at the frontline, he is known for aligning executive teams around ambition and mobilising organisations to deliver sustained performance improvement.

Over the last 10+ years, Tino led major initiatives across mining, oil and gas, chemicals, infrastructure, aviation, and rail. These included multi-hundred-million-dollar productivity programs, capital project optimisation, green steel and energy transition strategies, and AI-enabled project scheduling and operational improvements. He also built enduring C-suite relationships and introduced innovative client service models that generated significant organisational value.

Prior to McKinsey, Tino held leadership roles with Lufthansa Technik in Europe, the global leader in commercial aircraft maintenance. There, he worked across engineering, maintenance, and production environments, leading operations improvement and transformation initiatives in highly complex, safety-critical settings.

What do you love about what you do?

I’m passionate about working in infrastructure and asset-intensive industries because the outcomes endure. These assets shape communities, economies, and national capability for decades, and I’m driven by bringing people together with clarity, energy, and a bias for action to turn bold ambition into outcomes that communities and economies rely on.
