Sustainability Accreditations

About the cause

HKA is committed to continuous improvement of our environmental sustainability. One way we benchmark our progress is through external assessments from the industry’s sustainability experts. Here are a selection of our current environmental accreditations to date.

ISO 14001:2015 - Environmental management systems

ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. It helps organizations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, gaining a competitive advantage and the trust of stakeholders. The ISO 14001 standard contains the following key elements: Environmental policy, Planning, Implementation and Operation, Checking and Corrective Action, and Management review.

What we do

HKA Australia conducts an annual internal audit to assess its environmental management systems (EMS) and ensure they conform to the organisation’s own requirements and the requirements of ISO 14001, and are effectively implemented and maintained.

The results of the internal audit were discussed with the Environmental Sustainability Committee to develop proposed corrective actions. After consultation with the Leadership team, several initiatives were implemented and continue to be progressed.

Each year, a surveillance audit is conducted both internally and by independent external assessors. Every three years, a reaccreditation audit is conducted.
