ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. It helps organizations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, gaining a competitive advantage and the trust of stakeholders.
The ISO 14001 standard contains the following key elements: Environmental policy, Planning, Implementation and Operation, Checking and Corrective Action, and Management review.
What we do
HKA Oceania conducts an annual internal audit to assess its environmental management systems (EMS) to ensure the EMS conforms to the organisation’s own requirements and the requirements of ISO 14001, and is effectively implemented and maintained.
The results of the internal audit were discussed with the Environmental Sustainability Committee to develop proposed corrective actions. After consultation with the Leadership team, a number of initiatives were implemented and continue to be progressed.
Each year, a surveillance audit is conducted internally as well as by independent external assessors. Every three years, the same assessors conduct a reaccreditation audit.
