HKA Associate Director Niamh Ni Chroinin will be presenting on the subject of Commercial Risk Management: From Tender to Claims at the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors IQS Virtual Congress 2021.
Niamh will focus on how to manage commercial and contractual risk at the onset of the project through completion. This will explore risk from the initial review of project documents to completing associated Risk and Opportunity Management Registers to be used to track commercial contingency. Niamh will also discuss frustration / force majeure and suspension in light of COVID and what measures (mainly in terms of documentation) that can be used to protect both the Owner and Contractor. A sample productivity analysis will also be completed to demonstrate how records should be utilized to calculate loss of productivity due to reduced manpower / social distancing requirements and other issues relating to COVID.
