HKA Partner John Levitske is participating in a panel discussion at a June 8th seminar titled “Judges & General Counsel Discuss the New Time Standards for Illinois Trial Courts and the Effective Use of Court-Appointed Neutrals to Assist the Court.” The 4-hour, in-person event is being presented by The Chicago Bar Association, Academy of Court-Appointed Neutrals, Illinois Judges Association, and Illinois State Bar Association and begins at 2:00 PM CT. 

John will be speaking alongside Jason Klingensmith, Assistant General Counsel, General Motors, and Jason Miller, Vice President and General Counsel, Union Carbide Corporation, and Senior Counsel – Litigation, Dow, as part of a panel titled “General Counsels Discuss the Justice System” at 4:15 PM CT. Moderators are Ashley Rafael, General Counsel, Midway Moving and Storage, and John C. Sciacotta, Partner, Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa. The panelists will discuss how clients view litigation and how it can be made more affordable, the use of special masters, and the future of litigation.

John Levitske, Partner

John has more than 35 years of experience as a business valuation, forensic accounting, and economic damages professional. His expert witness work includes jury and bench trials, mediations, and arbitrations (including ICC, LCIA, SCC, UNCITRAL, AAA, JAMS, FINRA, and ad hoc) in the United States and internationally. John has acted as an expert for various multi-billion-dollar disputes, serving as both a neutral arbitrator and an independent advisor to the mediator.

John has also spent 25 years working for Big Four public accounting and international consulting firms. He has served in an advisory capacity when disagreements or uncertainties have arisen regarding quantifications of value, price, or economic damages of a business or a stakeholder interest in a business. In addition, John founded a business valuation dispute analysis practice, co-founded an acquisition agreement vetting practice, and was one of the leaders of a post-acquisition dispute practice. He has worked across a wide range of industries for both private and public companies.
