Join HKA Partner Patrick Jensen as he speaks on the risks and challenges of offshore wind at the Law and Policy Roundtable: Offshore Wind Energy Comes to California on April 19 at 4:30 PM PT. The three-hour seminar begins at 2:30 PM PT and is being held at the law offices of Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP in Los Angeles.
California has set the ambitious goal of achieving 100% renewable energy and zero-carbon electricity by the end of 2045. The state’s plan to achieve this goal largely depends on its ability to successfully implement offshore wind energy. In 2022, regulatory approvals were granted to move forward with two designated development areas, and auctions were held. This is a huge step forward in the effort to bring offshore wind to California. The USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy, USC Gould School of Law, and Energy Industries Council are sponsoring and hosting this free program to address the business, policy, and legal issues raised by this development.
HKA Partner Adam Winegard assisted in the organization of the program. Both Patrick and Adam hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the future of offshore wind energy in California.
