HKA looks forward to joining other members of the arbitration community for New York Arbitration Week 2023 on November 13–17 in New York City. The conference, now in its fifth year, is jointly led by the New York International Arbitration Center (NYIAC) and the New York Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArbNY).
At this year’s event, HKA is pleased to be co-sponsoring a breakfast session with Herbert Smith Freehills on November 14 at 8:30 AM ET. Panelists Laura Connor Smith, HKA; Rahul Ratakonda, HKA; Daniela Páez-Salgado, Herbert Smith Freehills; Louis Thivierge, Herbert Smith Freehills; and Ruth Teitelbaum, Ruth Teitelbaum PLLC, will be discussing “Leveraging Financial & Technical Experts: Views of Counsel, Arbitrator and External Financier.” Their discussion will provide counsel’s, arbitrator/third-party funder’s, and expert’s perspectives on best practices in leveraging experts (both technical and quantum experts) prior to and during arbitration proceedings. The group will also address the benefits and how-to’s of using experts throughout the process to assist the client’s needs.
