Protecting the Department of Defense’s Missions with The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) : What are your organization’s requirements?

Recent cyber intrusions across a wide span of providers, such as the intrusion on Solar Winds Network management software, are unprecedented for their scale and complexity. These types of intrusions have provided support for the DoD’s initiative that started in late 2019 to establish the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program to better protect the DoD supply chain.

The CMMC Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB) is continuing to make progress with Pilot programs, and the Interim Rule that went into effect on November 30, 2020 has incentivized organizations to move forward on bolstering the cyber programs for CMMC compliance. Expectations are the CMMC final rule will be announced this summer.
