Transportation Research Board’s 61st Annual Workshop on Transportation Law

HKA is excited to present at the 61st Annual Workshop on Transportation Law convened by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) on July 24–27 in Portland, Oregon. This workshop is the country’s most important gathering for learning about recent developments in transportation law and policy. Transportation attorneys, professionals, and TRB members are encouraged to attend.

HKA Partner Sidney Scott, along with Douglas D. Gransberg, Gransberg & Associates, Inc.; Christine Ryan, Nossaman LLP; and Sid Jimenez, San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, is participating in a panel discussion in Session 6: Avoiding Disputes by Drafting Understandable and Enforceable Contracts on July 25 at 1:00 p.m. ET. The session is being moderated by Nancy Smith, Nossaman LLP. Panel members will address the complex terms and conditions involved in contracts for transportation projects, as well as engage in an interactive discussion of problems they’ve faced in drafting and interpreting contracts for various transportation agencies. The panel will also discuss legal issues considered in resolving disputes and provide practical tips for reducing the chances of future problems.

This year’s 61st edition of the workshop is being headlined by the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the Honorable John Putnam, and his colleagues from the DOT’s modal administration legal offices. With the DOT’s implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law under way, the conference is sure to offer valuable insight into the transformative impact that this legislation will have on the future of transportation.

Attending attorneys are eligible to qualify for and obtain Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits from most state bar associations.
