Geoffroy Bertrand is a professional engineer with more than eight years of experience in the construction industry. He has been retained as a delay and quantum expert on numerous occasions.
Geoffroy has provided independent assessment and expert reports for disputed projects, ranging from major infrastructure to a wide variety of building uses, in arbitration and litigation proceedings. He has acted as expert and as assistant to the named expert for disputed values of up CAD$370 million and for projects with values of up to CAD$1.2 billion.
Prior to working as a consultant, Geoffroy was responsible for the project management of various civil engineering projects in paving, rehabilitation of underground infrastructure, buildings, excavation, and earthworks for a general contractor. He has negotiated the procurement of projects, ensured full supervision, and coordinated all stages of construction (including cost and schedule management and change management) on complex projects.
Geoffroy specialises in disputes related to changes, delays, loss of productivity, and quantification of damages. He also provides advisory and expert support for a variety of clients preparing and defending construction claims.
Geoffroy is a member of Quebec’s Order of Engineers (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) and the Project Management Institute. He speaks at industry conferences about construction dispute resolution and project management and is fluent in English and French.
