Iain Hall is a mechanical engineer with over 25 years of construction and engineering experience. He has been appointed as a technical expert on more than 50 occasions.
Iain acts as an expert engineer for both civil cases and criminal cases related to serious accidents ranging from mechanical entrapment accidents to power plant project guarantee failures. He provides expert reports and has given oral evidence in both arbitration and litigation for projects with values in excess of £25 million and disputed values of up to £3 million.
Iain specialises in contractual claims investigations and expert work regarding power and energy engineering and health and safety issues. He prepares and contributes to reports concerning contractual compliance issues, plant performance and plant failure.
Iain’s experience as a professional engineer has included working on power station projects and in maintenance engineering and engineering consultancy. He has primarily focussed on power generation plant; including thermal, geothermal and combined heat and power systems (CHP); boiler and process plant; and other mechanical equipment.
Iain Hall is a Chartered Engineer and is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a specialist member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management. He holds a NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.
