Jeffery McCain

Jeffery McCain is a Professional Engineer with 30 years of construction industry experience. He has been appointed as an expert witness on several occasions.

Jeff has prepared expert reports for arbitration proceedings and has been retained as an expert in quantum, delay and technical matters regarding a variety of buildings and infrastructure project disputes. He has also been deposed as a witness of fact.

Jeff has held key positions as a construction project engineer, site superintendent, construction cost estimator and construction project manager, working across both North and South America. He is widely experienced in the review of construction projects on behalf of insurance underwriters, assisting with liquidated damages, errors and omissions, force majeure and other types of construction risks.

Jeff specialises in schedule delay analysis, drawing on his background in estimating and project management which affords him an excellent basis for the evaluation of contractor’s schedules. He also has extensive experience in loss-of-productivity and cost analysis and is well acquainted with various scheduling programs, including Microsoft Project and Primavera P6. Other areas of speciality include risk assessments for combined-cycle power plants, process plants, mining projects, sports facilities, public assembly and building projects. He is currently acting as the independent engineer for a major mining project.

Jeff holds an undergraduate degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in construction management. He is a member of the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, the American Association of Cost Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
