Mark Sutton

Mark Sutton is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with more than 15 years of construction industry experience. He has been appointed as a quantum expert and has assisted the named expert witness.

Mark has prepared expert witness reports for matters in both arbitration and adjudication. He has also supported the named expert, including in the analysis of quantum meruit valuation and of the clients’ cost evidence records for disputed sums of up to AUS$1 billion.

Mark has a wide variety of project experience as a commercial manager and quantity surveyor. He has as a working knowledge of various standard forms of contract such as JCT, NEC3, and ICC as well as bespoke and shipping contracts.

Mark specialises in contracts, claims, dispute resolution and adjudications and supports clients, contractors and specialist subcontractors regarding projects across Europe, Asia and Australia. He advises regarding claims preparation, tendering, contract documentation and terms, change management, commercial management of projects and final account negotiation.

Mark Sutton is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He holds a master’s in both construction project management and construction law and dispute resolution as well as a Legal Experience Training Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence (LETAPAEWE) accredited by Pearson Learning at a level 7 (Masters level) BTEC.
