The firm has risen three places in the top arbitration expert witness firms, from eighth to fifth, with the highest percentage change of any firm listed in the top spots, and their total claim value increasing from US$9.7 billion to US$25.9 billion.

The Power Index also highlighted HKA’s performance in disaggregated hearings, with a total of 128, placing the firm second in this year’s measure. It also remained strong in its core service offerings with construction-related hearings, coming second overall. HKA also ranked fifth in the number of its experts involved in non-construction related hearings, which recognises the firm’s growing expertise in forensic accounting and commercial damages.

In GAR’s announcement of the 2023 results (subscription required), the independent research organisation noted HKA’s year-on-year improvement “must at some point start challenging for a top three spot”. The article also noted the firm’s improving performance in the number of expert witnesses recognised in Who’s Who Legal’s independent analysis.
