Toby Hunt, HKA Partner, Chief Business Development Officer and Head of Europe, was delighted to be elected as Chair of the World Petroleum Council’s (WPC) UK National Committee.
Toby has sat on the UK WPC National Committee for since March 2011. He has also spent six years the WPC Congress Programme Committee helping with Congresses held in Russia (2014) and Turkey (2017).
As Chair of the UK’s National Committee, Toby will lead the group in its goal to support a programme of activities that represent the UK on an international stage. This includes organising UK National Committee workshops, identifying themes, paper authors and chairpersons for congress sessions, and supporting WPC UK Young Professionals.
The WPC also works closely with other organisations and institutes in the goal of progressing an open, collaborative, and transparent industry space. This runs through the formation of the UK committee, too, with members from a variety of commercial, governmental, and academic organisations.
On his appointment, Toby said, “I must firstly thank our outgoing Chair Wim Thomas, Shell’s Chief Energy Adviser, under whose leadership the committee has gone from strength to strength. His work and dedication have set the committee up for continued success as I take the reins.
