Join this CIOB breakfast event at the National Motorcycle Museum with expert speakers from HKA and 4 Pump Court.

Claire Packman KC, is a barrister at 4 Pump Court and will talk about recent developments in construction contract law, including the latest on interpreting liquidated damages clauses and the allocation of risk under contractors’ all risks insurance.

Andrew White, FCIOB and joint head of the HKA delay team – UK & Europe, will discuss through a case study how different analysis methodologies can yield different conclusions and, present a case study in the use of 3D in delay analysis.

SPEAKERS

Claire Packman KC
Claire specialises in construction and engineering, energy and construction-related professional negligence. She is recommended in Legal 500, Chambers & Partners UK and Chambers Global in construction and other categories (including professional negligence and international arbitration) and is regularly instructed in high-value TCC litigation, local and international arbitrations and adjudications. Recent cases relate to the construction of airports, shopping centres, motorways, hotels, student accommodation, government offices, dredging projects, naval dockyard premises, solar power plants, off-shore wind farms, housing developments and high-end residential projects.

Claire is regularly involved in adjudications, adjudication enforcement proceedings and disputes relating to payment. She is a contributing author to the Architect’s Handbook and to the LexisNexis online Adjudication KnowHow. She is a former editor of the Adjudication Society newsletter.”

Andrew White FCIOB
Andrew is a chartered construction manager with 40 years of extensive construction experience who is regularly appointed as an Expert or Expert Advisor on delay and construction project management matters in adjudication, arbitration and litigation and recognised by clients for his thoroughly researched, clearly reasoned, “common sense” based analyses. His experience has been acquired across a broad spectrum of building, power & utilities, industrial & manufacturing, transportation & infrastructure, oil & gas projects in both the UK and Middle East.

Andrew’s experience also includes over 25 years working for several major contractors on a variety of projects within the building and civil engineering sectors. He held various roles, from site engineer through to projects director, with responsibility for projects from potential development scheme through to tender enquiry and completion.
