HKA assisted a multinational energy corporation with a two-year cybersecurity dispute.
Brief
HKA was engaged to provide consultancy for a cybersecurity change order dispute, in relation to the cost and time expended by our client’s contractor. The change order was concerning a change in cybersecurity requirements affecting multiple system designs and implementation.
What we did
HKA engaged with a global energy company to ascertain the scope of the client’s original design and contractual obligations of the contractor.
We reviewed and prioritized thousands of complex technical, project and commercial documentation related to the change order request. The documentation was highly complex in terms of technical design, cybersecurity controls, regulatory requirements, the number of parties involved, and the multitude of related contractual provisions and addendums.
HKA performed an extensive analysis of the change order request, supporting project documentation, and related information to determine a reasonable estimate of cost and effort to resolve the matter.
Outcomes
HKA’s cybersecurity expertise and conclusions in the supporting commercial report helped the client to resolve the two-year dispute. HKA also provided the client with guidance on preventing future disputes.
