2023 Women in Construction Conference 

HKA’s Katherine Barón Martinez, Karina Disarufino, and Nia Holland will be in Washington, DC, to attend the 2023 Women in Construction (WIC) Conference on October 19. True to this year’s theme – “Elevate and Celebrate” – the conference features two breakout sessions on work/life balance, breaking through barriers, attracting and retaining women in construction, gender equity, resiliency at work and in life, and more. Also on the agenda are several relevant presentations and panel discussions. HKA is once again proud to be a Silver Sponsor of this event! 

Now in its 17th year, the WIC Conference is the East Coast’s premier forum for women in the build industry. The event promotes education, professional development, and networking opportunities for women at all career levels. Attendees represent a multitude of disciplines, including general contractors, subcontractors, developers, architects, engineers, and representatives from trade associations, nonprofits, construction consulting firms, and law firms throughout the United States and Canada.  

A portion of the conference proceeds will be donated to mission-aligned causes such as the ACE Mentor Program, which provides scholarship and mentoring opportunities to high school and college students interested in architecture, construction, and engineering. This program ensures that young, talented individuals are entering the workforce with the necessary educational and practical knowledge.
