2023 ACI-NA/ACC/AGC Airport Construction Strategy Summit

HKA is a proud sponsor of the 2023 ACI-NA/ACC/AGC Airport Construction Strategy Summit being held in San Francisco on May 16 and 17. Partners John Paolin and Sid Scott and Technical Director Simon Dean McCarroll are attending on behalf of HKA and look forward to seeing clients, colleagues, and friends at this year’s event.   

On May 16 at 1:15 PM PT, Sid is serving on a panel alongside Steven Engebrecht, Federal Aviation Administration, and Patrick Lammerding, Hollywood Burbank Airport, for a discussion on “Finding the Common Ground: Alternative Project Delivery with FAA Funding.” The panel will discuss the challenges airport operators face when funding critical airport infrastructure through federal grant programs. Matt Wenham of C&S Companies will be moderating the discussion.

The Airport Construction Strategy Summit provides airport construction professionals, capital program managers, and risk managers with practical and actionable information on how to improve capital project delivery and manage construction and project delivery risks. Many airports that are managing or have recently managed large capital improvement programs will be featured in the program.

Sid is a professional engineer with more than 35 years of construction and engineering experience. He is a qualified expert witness and has given evidence to courts, mediators, arbitrators, and dispute boards in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Panama. Sid has acted as an expert for disputed values of up to $1B involving delay, inefficiency, acceleration, technical issues, contracts, and standard of care. Before transitioning to construction consulting, claims, and expert services, he was a civil and structural engineering designer in the power industry. His expertise includes evaluating delay, inefficiency, acceleration, and design defect claims for a wide range of projects. Sid is also recognized as a national expert regarding procurement and contracting methods for the construction industry and has provided advice and consulting services for major infrastructure projects using alternative delivery.
