The Project Controls Expo is an international Project Controls conference dedicated to its advancement and with the objective of providing significant practical and theoretical awareness on its process, tools and techniques to its stakeholders. It is the most important event for those working within the spectrum of Projects Controls, not just from an educational perspective but also in terms of building a network and exploring career opportunities. The above objective is achieved by bringing practitioners, employers, customers and suppliers together to share knowledge, experience, best practices, career development and software tools under one roof to hear managerial presentations from some of the industry’s best experts.

HKA has 4 guest speakers who were selected to present at the conference:

Jessica Schilling, Management Consultant
Jessica is an entry-level risk champion based in Sydney, Australia. For just over a year she has been working in project controls for Sydney Metro City & Southwest, as a management consultant through HKA. She has observed the practices and processes of project management professionals with her early career curiosity and enthusiasm, harnessing insights through on-the-job exposure and experience. The unique complexity of mega-infrastructure projects has sparked her interest in contributing to delivery innovation. Before this, she worked in partner operations at Uber and studied a double degree in Communication and Creative Intelligence and Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney.

Philip Kienstra, Director – Advisory
A pragmatic leader, Phil energizes his team to deliver the best outcomes possible. Starting his working life in the British Army, he has been put to the test in the most challenging of circumstances in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Since leaving the army, he has worked as a Management Consultant across multiple sectors in the Public & Private Sector in the UK. Phil arrived in Australia in March 2018 and is currently seconded on to Sydney Metro.

Will Guthrie, Consultant
William is a Structural Engineer with over 5 years’ experience working in both in civil infrastructure and transport. He has worked in construction, project management and design on major infrastructure projects in both Queensland and New South Wales. With a background in both structural design and construction, William is able to apply practical experience to his approach of project management and project controls.

John Byrne, Director – Advisory
John is a senior project management and risk professional with over 25 years’ experience. He has successfully delivered and managed projects in the infrastructure sector, with workforces of up to 2000 people and budgets up to USD1.5 Billion.
